Retirement Ideas

So, as I've mentioned my mother is retiring this year after 36 years of teaching. I had her students (all 80 of them) make a page in a book for her. The book is called: "Finally! A Retirement Book" It's bound and everything, thanks to Kinko's.

Each student completed the sentence...

"When Mrs. retires she can finally..."

Here are some of my favorites:
  • Get Mrs. Daugther (that's me) a kitten and then Mrs. Daughter will end up with one million kittens and Mrs. faints.
  • Relax and stay up as long as she wants.
  • Go dancing with her husband.
  • Go on, "So You Think You Can Dance?"
  • Go on Survivor and win 1,000 dollars.
  • Run off into the jungle and make monkey friends.
  • Go on "Whose Line is it Anyway" with Drew Carey.
  • Be on the "Amazing Race" and go sky diving.
  • Work at Wal-Mart because you will be able to see us there.
  • Forget the old cursive "Q".
  • Become a flamenco dancer.
  • Find a friend and become "Women in Black" (a la Men in Black).
  • Go on "American Idol" and try to win.
  • Be rich from saving money for 36 years. (::snort, snort::)
  • Become Super Mrs. and save the world from evil.
  • Go vote for the Virginia Tech Hokies. (I think she meant root.)
  • Go on a brand new show called, "Writer Idol".
  • Drive a stock car in NASCAR.
  • Sit back and relax and make your husband do the rest.
  • Become a children's book writer.
And my personal favorite:

When Mrs. retires she can finally...become a hard rocker in a band with Mrs. Best Friend. (Her best friend and fellow team teacher retired last year.)

I just love kids!
